New FCA Partnership

We are pleased to announce that our software has been chosen by Financial Counselling Australia (FCA) as the strategic solution to help connect people in financial hardship to a network of local financial counselling agencies.

Financial counsellors provide free and confidential advice and support to people experiencing financial stress.

As Australia recovers from the pandemic, the need for financial counselling is more acute than ever.

Each year tens of thousands of people who have hit hard times ring the telephone financial counselling service, the National Debt Helpline seeking advice. Some people also need more intensive support and the Helpline refers over 40,000 people each year to a face-to-face financial counsellor.

Our software solution will make this referral process work more seamlessly and effectively, providing the National Debt Helpline with full visibility of appointment availabilities and specialities across the financial counselling agency network.

Financial Counselling Australia CEO, Fiona Guthrie said “We’re excited to be working with Verto on this project. The aim is to make it easier for people in financial hardship to connect with services that can help them. That’s good for our clients and also for our services, as it will unlock enormous efficiencies.”

One of the things that we have learnt during the pandemic is that financial stress can happen to just about anyone. Many, are just a few pay cycles away from struggling to pay day to day living expenses. We saw this when so many people lost their jobs. Other reasons that people seek advice from a financial counsellor is due to illness, relationship breakdown or low income.

Our company has also been successfully providing software solutions to The Salvation Army’s Affordable SA program, a community gateway service to essential services that connects people to legal, emergency accommodation, food, finance, and domestic violence services.
